These are Seema Gill's historic and revealing photographs of India from 1974. The pictures show a variety of scenes depicting Indian village life around Chandigarh, in Punjab, Northern India. Chandigarh was designed by the famous French artist and architect, Le Corbusier. Some of the pictures of children show them as wide eyed and full of fun. Punjab is one of the most prosperous provinces and is called the bread basket of India. Chandigarh boasts of being an educational, cultural town having the well know University of Punjab and Art College of Punjab as well as the beautiful man made reservoir Sukhna Lake. Some of these scenes from the 1970's will never reappear.
